Where and When
Rainbow Babies and Kids playgroup is on every Thursday, from 10am till Noon, in Sydney’s Inner West.

The playgroup may close down for several weeks over the Christmas period. This will be confirmed closer to the time.

How much?
Our session fees are $3 per family per session and a snack per child.
We will be paying rent to City of Sydney. Our fees also provide tea and coffee for the grown-ups.

The first two visits are free! Have a look around and see what you think. There are no waiting lists. No need to call for a booking, just come for a visit.

On your third visit you must join Playgroup NSW Inc otherwise our insurance is void. Normally, it costs $39 a year to join Playgroup NSW. However, because Rainbow Babies playgroup is supported by Playgroup NSW for the first 3 months, this fee will be waived during this period. We are affiliated with the Playgroup NSW Inc., so the membership allows you to attend any playgroup in NSW that is also a member.

How?
When you arrive, could you please sign the visitors book if you are a new member. If you are an existing member, please sign in your attendance for the day after you have placed your session fee in the cup next to the sign in book.

We will endeavour to run an activity each term such as a music and dance session or arrange a visit from someone like the Reptile Man!

We rely on everyone pitching in and lending a hand setting up, washing up or packing up or running an activity. If everyone does one small job then the session runs smoothly for all the parents and children! Everybody can help in some way through the day and still have time to enjoy chatting with friends and new acquaintances.

How can members get involved?
The success of this playgroup is driven by its members. The central organisation is undertaken by three official positions, the Coordinator, the Secretary and Treasurer.

There are other opportunities to get involved, by way of organising activities or coordinating days. If you would like to organise a specific activity, or be someone who runs the session on either an occasional or regular basis, please advise the group Coordinator, who will add you to the roster.

Fundraising
Fundraising is key to the ongoing success of the playgroup. Raising additional funds provides us with the opportunity to purchase more toys and invite paid entertainers to perform for the group. Fundraising will also enable the group support members who are experiencing financial hardship to enable them to continue attending the playgroup.

Throughout the year we will be undertaking a range of fundraising activities to support the group.
